Every single minute, a woman is diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the world. In a recent news report published in the LEADING DAILY Punjab Kesari, Dr. Jyoti Malik, renowned Gynaecologist and Medical Superintendent of the esteemed JJ Institute of Medical Sciences described the COMMON CAUSES OF INCREASING BREAST CANCER amongst women: late first pregnancies beyond 30 years, increased consumption of alcohol and cigarettes, increasing obesity amongst women, use of oral contraceptives, poor nutrition, genetic factors, etc were cited as the causes.

She also highlighted the NEED FOR SELF BREAST EXAMINATION from the age of 20. Dr. Jyoti advised women to undergo mammography every three years and look for lumps, pain, and swelling as well as secretions from the breast and changes in the nipple size and colour. These are signs NOT TO BE IGNORED.
